i just thought this needed to be pointed out to the tumblr community.

these are all photoshopped by enrico francis

it needs to stop.

Dear Enrico Francis Photoshop extrordinare,

STOP FUCKIN PHOTOSHOPPING BEAUTIFUL WOMEN AND MANIPULATING THEIR BODIES AND FACES INTO UNNATURAL BARBIE LOOK-A-LIKES.

1. youre not very good at it. the manipulations you make are so fucking freakish that all i have to do is glance at your photos and know that its not real.

2. the natural beauty of these women is so profound that the fact that you feel the need to photoshop them is fucking INSANE.

3. we do not need another fucking shit putting these unrealistic expectations of women (and men, cause you shop them too) into the world. its not right. you know its not, i know its not and tumblr knows.

So Enrico, I beg you please give it a rest. be a good fucking human being and stop. learn to be a true artist and enhance the beauty youre working with as opposed to completely warping it.

and if you dont i will continue to publish your shitty photoshop all over this fucking website.

Can I just point out that in both images of Rhianna, her nose has been shopped to look more White, less African-American?

I don’t know the names of the other WOC in these images, but he’s done the same to them, too. As well as lightening their skin.

He’s deliberately altered the appearances of these WOC to look more white.

What an unbelievable scumbag.

The fact that he also changed the ads??

lol i like the extent to which the transition to normal images makes it look like life has been breathed into them

The F.B.I. scolded several news media outlets on Wednesday for mistakenly reporting that an arrest had been made in the Boston Marathon bombing case, and warned that such unverified reporting could have “unintended consequences” for its investigation.

Numerous organizations, including The Associated Press, The Boston Globe and several local Boston television stations, erroneously reported Wednesday afternoon that an arrest had been made, citing unnamed law enforcement sources. Two of the most prominent reports came from CNN and the Fox News Channel, both the subject of widespread criticism last June after misreporting the result of the Supreme Court ruling on President Obama’s health care overhaul law.

CNN and Fox News spent about an hour discussing the news of an arrest with various correspondents and experts before backing off when they received further information.

NBC News held back on reporting news of an arrest during continuing coverage on its MSNBC cable channel. It reported that no arrest had been made and that no person had been firmly identified as under suspicion. (The New York Times did not report that there was a suspect or an arrest.)

The F.B.I. issued a statement later in the afternoon: “Over the past day and a half, there have been a number of press reports based on information from unofficial sources that has been inaccurate. Since these stories often have unintended consequences, we ask the media, particularly at this early stage of the investigation, to exercise caution and attempt to verify information through appropriate official channels before reporting.”

CNN broke news of an arrest at 1:45 p.m., with the correspondent John King citing law enforcement sources. About a half-hour earlier, Mr. King had reported what he called a “breakthrough in the identification of a suspect” and included details of a physical description.

“I was told by one of these sources, who is a law enforcement official, that this was a dark-skinned male,” Mr. King said.

By about 2:45, one of CNN’s law enforcement experts, Tom Fuentes, a former assistant director of the F.B.I., appeared on the air and reported that he had three sources who assured him no arrest had been made. The network issued a statement later in the afternoon that cited the three sources who had given CNN the information it used to break the news of the arrest: “CNN had three credible sources on both local and federal levels. Based on this information we reported our findings.”

“You painted a naked woman because you enjoyed looking at her, put a mirror in her hand and you called the painting “Vanity,” thus morally condemning the woman whose nakedness you had depicted for you own pleasure.”

This is super fucking relevant.

And why self portraits (selfies) are often such an act of self preservation and resistance.

#it’s okay to follow creepshots but when a celebrity’s nudes are leaked she’s a slut #it’s perfectly normal to watch objectifying porn but when a woman decides to film herself having sex she’s a whore #it’s alright for you to harass women on the street but when they approach you first it’s arrogance #it’s cool for you to fantasize about a woman who’s out of your league but when a woman you deem unattractive likes you you’re disgusted #no don’t worry you can make female bodies public property but when they discuss your masturbation habits you can be offended

When Saddam was murdered, the mainstream media broadcast it and showed the celebrations in Iraq and amongst the Iraqi diaspora. When Gaddafi was murdered, shots of his dead face were across all media platforms and a feature on the edgware road showed how much he was hated by large sections of the British Arab community.

Today, when Thatcher has died from natural causes, will they go to old industrial heartlands, South Wales, the Northeast, the Northwest, etc.? Will they show the jubilation? The celebration of a death will be cast as sickening.

I predict a moralistic sound byte from Cameron, condemning those who dance on the grave of his political hero. I don’t like celebrating death, but Thatcher lived a long life and was not murdered. She could have been.

But she lived long while millions in this world are worse off because of her government, her economics, her foreign policy. She was the head of the snake that poisoned Britain. She killed community, so if communities coalesce around her death, there’s something very good in that.

deviantArtist shoomlah created a redesign of Pocahontas for her gorgeous “Historical Disney Princesses” series, in which she took cues from the films as to their probable time periods, researched the dress of those periods, and redrew the Princesses in clothing with a higher (though still stylized) degree of accuracy.

She received honest critique on some elements of her Pocahontas design, from people more familiar with actual 17th century Powhatan dress and history, some of whose ancestry was rooted in that history. And, to her very great credit, she took that critique graciously to heart and chose to create an even lovelier and more historically accurate version of her design which incorporated what she had learned. She also specifically cited her own concerns over misrepresenting a real person, as opposed to a fairy tale character, as part of her explanation for the change.

No hard feelings, no anger or insecurity. Just sensible integrity, an open heart, and a willingness to expand her own horizons.

This is how you do it, guys. ♥
